Mr. Lofaso has practiced law in Virginia since 2008. He acquired a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and English Literature from Baylor University and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Drake University College of Business and Public Administration. He completed his legal training through the Virginia Board of Bar Examiners’ Law Reader Program and received his license to practice after passing the Virginia Bar Exam.
Before acquiring his law license, Mr. Lofaso served as a law clerk to both the Honorable United States Senator Charles Grassley of Iowa and the Honorable United States Representative Kevin Brady of the 8th Texas District. After receiving his license, Mr. Lofaso worked as an associate at a private law firm in Fairfax County.
As a litigator, Mr. Lofaso worked on cases in both federal and state courts throughout the United States. He has worked on trial matters before several United States District Courts along with appeals to the United States Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit. In the Commonwealth, Mr. Lofaso has tried cases in the General District Courts for Fairfax, Prince William, and Stafford counties and has experience before the Circuit Courts of Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudon counties. He has acted as a criminal defense attorney to clients in several general district courts throughout Virginia. He has experience handling traffic and misdemeanor cases in both Fairfax County and Stafford County. Mr. Lofaso has also advocated for and defended clients against administrative agencies such as the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles, the Arlington County Department of the Treasury, the Fairfax Police Department, and the Arlington Police Department.
Finally, Mr. Lofaso has advised small business clients as a counselor on a myriad of topics such as business formation and succession, employer/employee relations, basic taxation management, and federal, state, and county regulatory compliance.
